Ascent of Snowdon (1,085 m) 29. December 2000

Snowdon seen across Llyn Llydaw

The lads by Llyn Llydaw

The track rises towards Glaslyn

Watery sunshine

Neil and another on the steep section

Another shot of Lliwedd

We bumped into three climbers from the North West Face, who were descending the track having just made a daring ascent of Parsley Fern Gully on the north face of Crib y Ddysgl. John, Adrian and Marek pose in front of Snowdon's vast east face. Sadly, I forgot that I was carrying a piece of Mrs P's famous cake, so we missed out on the usual Youarsey ceremony

Neil and Steve C reaching the col through deep snow...

...and by the stone

The ice-plastered summit rocks and cairn

A quick adjustment of gear before descending into the gloom
